When did USA Powerball start and how?

Powerball's predecessor was a multi-state game known as Lotto America, introduced in 1988.

The game and name were changed to Powerball on 19 April 1992 the first drawing was held on 22 April.

Dr. Edward J. Stanek was the president of the lottery and, along with Steve Caputo, was one of the two men who invented the game Powerball.
